Welcome to paradise! Take a stimulating trek through lush rainforest to discover the best of the 27 waterfalls at Damajagua. Hike, slide, swim and jump your way around this watery assault course, with a local guide leading you to all the best spots. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, we’ll take you to not one but TWO of our favourite local foodie haunts to sample the very best of authentic Dominican cuisine. At Dominican Adventures, we’re all about offering you the Best. Day. Ever., and we think we may have surpassed ourselves with this awe-inspiring tour!
Once we have all assembled, we’ll hop on public transport and take a 30-minute ride to the waterfalls entrance. Here we’ll stop briefly to introduce you to this astonishing sustainable tourism project.
A moderate 30-minute uphill hike through the beautiful jungle landscape will lead us to the 12th waterfall, which is where the real fun begins! From here, we’ll head back down river as you jump, slide and swim your way through a series of spectacular waterfalls, canyons and azure pools, emerging with a silly grin on your face and incredible memories to cherish.
The tour includes jumps of up to 25 feet (8 metres) but don’t worry, you can walk around them if you don’t fancy making the big jumps.
Delicious food will be waiting for you after our swim at a local’s favourite street food stall in a secret rural location, where you’ll try some delicious Dominican pork dishes, including crackling, fried pork and our beloved Dominican sausage, known as longaniza, which all the locals love.
Our food journey does not end here though! Next up, we’ll head over to a small town known for its mixture of local restaurants that specialise in authentic Dominican cuisine. We’ll visit our favourite joint where we’ll enjoy a scrumptious lunch accompanied by a local beer to wash it down.
After lunch we’ll head back to Puerto Plata where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach or exploring more of our beautiful island. Before you go, don’t forget to ask your guide for tips on what else to see, do and eat during your stay.
Note that the food samples may vary from tour to tour depending on what is available that day

We went to three beautiful waterfalls and ate a delicious Dominican lunch at a cool country restaurant with great scenery. Jose took great pictures and sent them to us which was a huge bonus. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about Dominican culture and scenery. I definitely recommend Jose and would book again for a different tour next time. read less

We went horseback riding and hiked to a beautiful waterfall, then had a lovely home-cooked lunch in a local woman's home. Jose was extremely knowledgeable, his energy is infectious! We had reservations at a very nice all inclusive resort in Punta Cana, but I know (from experience) these type places actually kind of shield you from the true flavor, culture and experience of the country they are supposed to represent. So, I set out to find an experienced and highly regarded local guide. Using the internet and friending several people on FB, I found several people that had wonderful experiences with Mr. Jose. After contacting and discussing what I was looking for myself and Wife to experience, I felt I could not go wrong. Well, I was SO right. Jose is a fine gentleman and true steward of his fine country. His knowledge and passion is second to none. We only had a day to go to the city and he utilized every second of our day to the fullest! He gifted me with exactly what I had asked him to provide, a true taste of The Dominican Republic. The city, the rich colonial history, the forest, a waterfall (that we had all to our selves), a wonderful little rural town (where we dined on very authentic, amazing food with locals), some freshly prepared milk candy that was to die for and all the history and local flavor that we could soak in, within the 12 hours we spent together. That day was truly one of the most memorable I've ever had traveling and to top it all off, we gained a new friend. Muchos gracias amigo, Brian K Pinsonat & Angela T PinsonatHope to see you soon!
